FAQ

Thrill the World  and answers!
  1. What is Thrill the World?
A world-wide simultaneous Thriller dance!  It was inaugurated in 2006 by Ines Markeljevic as a one-off project for her friends in Toronto; the following year, she decided to open it to anyone who wanted to do a local event, with herself as 'international coordinator' of events.

2010 is the fourth year that Thrill the World has been an international event. Last year had a record-breaking 22,500 participants.... can TTW 2010 top that?
  2. Have you done the Thriller dance before in Durban?
I personally have done the Thriller dance two years in a row (back home in Vancouver). But it's never happened in Durban before.

In fact, this will be not only the first Thrill The World event in Durban, it will be the first in Africa!  You will be representing an entire continent here!
  3. Where is the 2010 Thriller dance?
Come to rehearsals and you'll find out!

  4. How do we learn the dance?
You can find instructional videos on youtube under "Thrill the World lessons", and at thrilltheworld.com. Or you can come to one of our practices being held Oct 20 - 22.

  5. How hard is it to learn?
It takes about three hours to learn the moves, and then some practice at home. The moves are easy, it's just learning them and remembering the order.

After you learn the moves, I'll provide you with audio clips you can listen to to help you memorize and practice the routine. And there is a dance script that you can print out and take with you anywhere.

Plus, you can come to multiple practices if you want to.

  6. Is it free?
    Absolutely!
